Eating Out

We are very lucky to live in a beautiful village with a number of quite outstanding places to eat.

The Falcon Inn  Within strides of St Annes B&B and opposite the beautiful church yard stands this old historic Coaching Inn.     Everyone loves this place where you can get a simple supper in the bar or something a bit more substantial in the main restaurant. Busy and popular so pre-booking essential. Tel. 01452 814222

The Cardynham House Bistro  Fabulous food inspired by Mari's Romanian roots.   The service is quite exceptional.  Tel. 01452 810030 - it is also just strides from St Annes.

The Woolpack, Slad. It takes about 1 hour to walk over Juniper Hill into Slad but this pub can't be missed during your stay in Painswick. Long slow evenings by the fireside in this magical place inspired 'Cider with Rosie' and other bucolic literary works by Laurie Lee. Drink in the views and a pint of "Old Spot" and fill up on earthy, robust cooking. Tel. 01452 813429  Web Site

The Painswick.  Our beautiful Hotel has won "Country House Hotel of the Year".  A romantic and beautiful place for a special supper or just a cosy drink by the fire.  It is also in the heart of Painswick. Tel.01452 813688

The Royal Oak  After refurbishment the pub is now open and run by a popular local couple.  Lots of delicious homemade burgers.  Simple but good quality. No pre-booking just turn up.

St Michael's Restaurant and cafe Matt is a passionate foodie with flair and an eye for detail.  Magda is a warm and gracious hostess.  They open at weekends so book in for gastronomic treat! Tel 01452 812712 or email
